Course Options
I am currently teaching two courses: the accredited 8-week Mindfulness Now course (12 hours of teaching), and a 6-week course which draws on this (6 hours of teaching). There is also a 45 minute taster session which is a chance to experience some short mindfulness practices and see what it's all about!
The courses teach both theory and experience of mindfulness, with the aim of naturally integrating it into your everyday life, whatever your lifestyle. We will practice a variety of tools and meditations, helping you to train your brain to be more present, strengthening your resilience and ability to manage difficulties and stresses. It is also a great tool to make sure we get the most out of the good times too!
You'll learn the foundational skills of mindfulness and meditation in a supportive environment and will be provided with audio recordings of practices from each sessions to use at home. Both courses draw on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to deliver a practical teaching of mindfulness tools and attitudes, which you can bring into your everyday life. There are options for either in-person or online learning (using Teams), either individually or in a small group.
Participants are encouraged to practice mindfulness during the week between sessions, in a way that fits into their individual lives. This is flexible and can take as little as 3 minutes for a breathing space reset to 20 minutes for the longest sitting practice. Home practice between sessions can give a real sense of embedding mindfulness into your everyday life, much of it through things that you are doing anyway. The length of the course gives time to develop new habits and embed the skill of awareness through both formal and informal practice. The small group sizes mean that teaching can be personalised to the individuals in the group.
Included in the course price are daily mindfulness prompts for a month following the course. There is also the option to join my weekly £5 half-hour group practice online on a Saturday morning, which is for graduates of my 6 and 8 week courses only.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any queries, or to discuss whether the course would be right for you.

FAQs
How do I book onto a course?
Booking is via this website or the contact form.
What is the purpose of the welcome phone call?
After booking, I will arrange a time for your 20 minute welcome phone call. This is primarily to find out what you personally would like to get out of the course, and answer any questions you may have. There will also be a few health questions. If for any reason. at this point, it becomes clear that Mindfulness wouldn’t be suitable for you, then a full refund will be provided.
How do I pay?
Payment is made via the website when you book onto the course.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, if you wish to book in instalments, send me a message via the contact form so that this can be arranged. This will allow you to pay in 2 instalments, with the second instalment due 2 weeks before the start of the course.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, full refunds will be given up to 2 weeks before the start of the course. After this date, no refunds can be made, although the booking can be changed to a different course up until 1 week before the start of the course that has been booked.
What if I have to miss a group session?
You will miss the teaching of that session, but audio recordings of the 'practices' from the session will be sent.
What should I bring to the session?
Comfortable clothing and optional items like a cushion, blanket, or yoga mat. A bottle of water and a notebook for reflections may also be helpful. Equally, you don’t need to bring anything but yourself!
How do I join an online session?
All online courses will be held on Teams. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to the online session. Please make sure you have access to a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
Are there any contraindications for mindfulness?
Mindfulness is considered very safe and beneficial for most people, however, it may not be suitable for individuals experiencing severe trauma, PTSD, active psychosis, or acute emotional distress. It would also be important that I know about any conditions such as epilepsy and asthma. Sessions are not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment. If you are unsure, please contact me via the contact form.
What qualifications do you have to teach mindfulness?
I am a Mindfulness Now accredited teacher, a training recognised by the British Psychological Society, the UK College of Mindful Meditation, the Mindfulness Teachers Association and the National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors. I am registered with the Mindfulness Teachers Association.
